THE ELEMENTAL PROJECT
You're talking about the book ELEMENTAL. I thought it was going to happen earlier this year but it didn't. We may or may not have to start over on that project so far as securing publication for it goes. I know that's not a very good answer to your question but it's the best I can offer at the moment.

I picked up a copy of Paint Magazine at a museum in Philadelphia last year and it had a story in there about you and the artist Luther Vann doing a book together. Then just recently I went to a show of Luther Vann's work in at the Urban Gallery in Alpharetta Georgia but no book. Is that happening or not happening?

Actually, it was something she felt inspired to do on her own when she read excerpts from the manuscript. She was already somewhat familiar with my poetry from presentations at Poetry Society of Georgia meetings. But I didn't know anything about the artwork she she doing based on my writings until she showed it to me at a reading. It was a fantastic and welcomed surprise. I'm definitely lucky that it happened that way.

Congrats on the new e-book. Mind if I ask how you got the artist Denise Elliot-Vernon to do the cover for your book? I've seen her work on Tybee and didn't know she did stuff like book covers.

The upcoming publication of VISIONS OF A SKYLARK DRESSED IN BLACK is allowing this particular old school writer to step into a new school technological mode. My first three books all entered print through the more traditonal publishing route of handing over manuscripts to publishers then waiting however long for a book to arrive at the house. Producing an e-book, just like reading one, is a very different kind of experience that I'm looking forward to.
